Kos Island International Airport Hippocrates (KGS)
Travel and Ground Transport
(Kos, Greece)
The ground transportation infrastructure at Kos Ippokratis Airport (KGS) is reasonable at best.
Passengers arriving at the airport can opt to walk outside the airport grounds for access to public buses, or alternatively visitors can take the convenient and slightly more expensive option of a taxi.
All taxis depart from directly outside the Arrivals Terminal. Of note, shuttle buses are also available for Olympic Air passengers only.
Buses
KTEL bus services run from outside of the airport's gates to Kos Town, Mastihari, Kardhamena and Kefalos. Bus services can sometimes be unreliable and do not always run to schedule.
Shuttle Buses
Olympic Air passengers can make use of the airline's free shuttle buses, which connect the airport with Kos Town.
Hotel Shuttles
Hotels at popular resorts along the coast often offer minibus shuttles from the airport to their establishments. We recommend that you check the availability of hotel shuttles with your proposed place of residence prior to booking if you require this service.
Taxi Cabs
Taxis running to Kos Town and popular resorts are available from a taxi rank located outside of the Arrivals areas of the Arrivals Terminal.
Limousines
There are no limousine companies present at Kos Ippokratis Airport (KGS). However, car hire companies can offer a cheaper and similarly convenient alternative.
